LA County To Pay Plaintiffs $5.3 Million In Settlement Of Fatal Shooting By Sheriff’s Deputies

Following the 2012 fatal shooting of Jose De La Trinidad by the LA County Sheriff’s Department, HSR, along with co-counsel, have obtained a $5.3 million settlement for Mr. De La Trinidad’s family. HSR Partner Joshua Piovia-Scott, and co-counsel, worked hard to ensure justice for Mr. De La Trinidad and his family after he was brutally shot by deputies seven times, five times in the back, despite a witness account that Mr. De La Trinidad surrendered himself with his hands on his head at the time he was shot.
